Message from IBC Convention

I want to thank all of you for making this a successful convention. Connie and Melissa helped us with the new software. We had always used manual logs and this was new to us. Hermanus and Joty along with other Indonesian IBCmembers helped us go wild in Texas.
The species exhibit was a success thanks to the hard work of Gerald and Mark. This showed the world can work together for the love of our fish. We had plenty of liquid refreshments so everyone thought things were going smoothly. We fed everyone Texas food and we hope they liked it. Our tee shirts were a big success and we will have a second printing as many people wanted more than one. We will offer them on our web site for ordering. We are in negotiations with our printer now.
Thanks again for the opportunity to expose The IBC to the joy of species bettas and a chance to go wild in Texas.

Pelatihan Penjurian Standard IBC di Pekanbaru, Riau
Pekanbaru Riau merupakan kota yang sangat aktif dalam percupangan nasional. Perkembangan cupang di kota ini ditandai dengan seringkali diadakannya kontes cupang baik pada tingkat lokal maupun regional Riau dan sekitarnya. Bahkan kontes cupang dikota ini sudah ada sejak awal abad ini, ketika cupang marak dan louhan belum menyerbu masuk.
Seperti pada setiap kegiatan kontes cupang, peranan standard dan juri mempunyai arti penting, namun sayangnya standard nasional cupang Indonesia belum ada, sementara juri yang ada masih berbekal pengalaman yang bersifat subjektif sehingga sering menimbulkan kontroversi dan membuat kontes cupang ternoda.
Atas dasar inilah Betta Splendens Community Pekanbaru (BSCP) yang diketuai oleh Gunawan mengadakan pelatihan Standard Penjurian Cupang Hias IBC pada tanggal 21 Februari 2009 dikediaman ketuanya. Pelatihan ini ditujukan agar para pemain, juri dan calon juri kontes cupang mengetahui standard baku yang pakai dalam kontes Internasional sehingga dapat dijadikan pegangan bersama dalam kegiatan kontes yang diadakan di Pekanbaru dan sekitarnya.
Pelatihan diikuti oleh 11 orang peserta dengan instruktur Joty Atmadjaja dengan dibantu oleh Ahmad Rifai.
Keesokan harinya diadakan kontes cupang oleh Tenayan Betta Splendens Community (TBSC) dengan didasari perhitungan standard IBC namun kelas yang dipertandingkan masih sangat sederhana yakni Kelas warna dasar, warna kombinasi dan warna bebas dengan pembagian kelas Junior Senior yang sudah ketinggalan jaman. Kontes diikuti sekitar 160 peserta dan dimenangi oleh cupang serit orange sebagai Grand Champion milik Gunawan.

Tebal 176 halaman. Karangan Redaksi PS dengan Pembaca Ahli Joty Atmadjaja. Buku ini dicetak full color dan mewah. Harga eceran Rp. 75.000
Foto-foto dibuku ini sangat menarik hasil jepretan Adi S. Ginting, profesional fotografer yang penghobby cupang.

Direct Shipment to USA
Starting this month Jotya Betta Gallery is shipping the fish to USA directly. The first shipment take place on the 27th of January to trans-shipper, Mr. Tan Kieu - Asian Tropical Fish in Atlanta, Giorgia. The direct shipment has many advantages: less shipping time, controlable, fish arrives safe and sound, and less DOA. Include in this shipment is also fishes from other Indonesian Betta breeders.
By doing this we offer to our buyer better services and less trans-shipping times. Buyer can ask the Indonesian breeder to nominate Jotya Betta to ship its purchased fish.
To all fellow Indonesia breeders, if you have only a small amount of fish to ship to USA do not worry, this service is available for you. Even you can ship only one fish at very little cost. You and your buyer can save money, valuable time and hassle of exporting/importing.
